Part 3 of our Twitter Glossary

Twitter is the latest in instant micro-blogging tools that keeps your friends, family, colleagues, strangers or customers updated on your current status.

Following on from our Twitter Glossary Part 1 and Part 2, here’s Part 3 :)

TWEETVOLUME: An online service that informs users of the volume of Tweets containing specific words, like a Keyword Tool.

A Twitter Glossary – part 2

We hear them all the time, terms and slang being bandied about, and many people just nod and smile vacantly, while wondering quietly to themselves “What the Tweet did THAT mean?”

The first in a series of Twictionary tweets aims to shed some light on some of the terms you’ll hear and read about Twitter.

Make sure you don’t miss part 3 by following me on Twitter!

Got a question? Get a Twitter answer!

twitter answers Created by Mosio, TwitterAnswers is an app that does exactly what it says on the tin.

They say:

How influential are you on Twitter?

TwitterPoster is a visual representation of the influential tweeters. By influential, they mean the people with the most followers.

They say:

TwitterPoster is a mashup created from Twitter, the microblogging service owned by Obvious LCC (Blogger Xanga, Odeo). Inspired by ‘The Million Dollar Homepage’ and the populars tagclouds, the service generates a mosaic with the images of users who have a greater number of followers in Twitter. Each poster have 5 photos of 72×72 pixels showing at 5 users with more followers, 10 images of 48×48 pixels for those between the positions 6 and 15 (both inclusive) and XXX images of 24×24 pixels for those who are on the position 16 to 538.

The Twitter Hall of Shame

The great thing about twitter, and indeed the Internet in general, is that once something is out there and read, it’s pretty difficult to get rid of it.

So a whole generation of Internet users can grow up making idiots of themselves on twitter, and then being constantly reminded of it by articles such as this one on Inside CRM.

Particular favourites of mine from this article:

In addition, the Mistakes and Anger sections make pretty good reading.

Are you wearing your Tweetshirt?

TweetshirtWell, someone had to do it!

Tweetshirts are now available from http://tweetshirts.com/ts/

It looks as if you can have your own Tweet printed on there, but it would be nice if the site could make this a little clearer as it’s not obvious.

Now, when they start doing ladies black skinni-fit tees, I’ll be buying ;)

You can follow Tweetshirts on Twitter here.

Tweetstats – see your stats in a graph

Thanks to jcolman for this one.

twitter graphTweetstats

You can enter your username and see how many Tweets you’ve sent – all in a pretty little graph!

Find out how you compare with the rest of the Twitterverse and then try hard not to worry that you sent 100 Tweets in the last 10 hours ;)

If you Tweet a lot it can take an age to load the first time, but be patient :)

My graph is here

Twitabit – twitabit later on

twitabit logo Not quite as good as Tweetlater, but a good attempt, Twitabit allows you to post your Tweets when Twitter is having problems.

You can’t schedule Tweets, but it will post them as soon as twitter is back.

Who’s a Twitterholic?

Have you ever wondered who has the most followers on Twitter? Well, wonder no more.

Twitterholic ranks Twitter users in order of the amount of followers they have.

You can also see the number of Tweets they have posted, and their own URL.

At time of writing, the precious number one spot is owned by Kevin Rose, of Digg fame.
