A million ways to search Twitter, Olympic updates, iPhone apps and more

Morning campers, another round up commences, another day begins.

  • Not strictly about Twitter, but I like this post on Hotels and Social networks from Chris Brogan - Twitter could be great for meeting up with other delegates and guests in a hotel - although it is probably open to misuse….
  • Only another 2,000,002 followers (approximately) and we’ll be in the Twitterholic top 100 - then the Gods of Twitter will bestow shining gifts upon us.. or something….
  • If you want to follow the Olympics via twitter, BBC news reporters in China are using Twitter for updates, acording to the BBC Olympics site.
  • We all know that twitter has acquired Summize, and here’s Evan Williams, the founder of Twitter, talking about the buyout. There’s also a transcript of the interview.
  • Twitterific now available for iPhone. As I’ve steadfastly stayed away from the iPhone bandwagon (ie i’m too lazy to queue) I can’t comment on this, but please check it out and let me know if it works well.
  • Another newspaper realises the power of Twitter - INQUIRER.net Vice President and Executive Editor Leo Magno said the company’s move to use Twitter for its breaking news content was a way of “looking at faster ways to deliver information through microblogging and social networking sites.”

There’s more news to come but we need to sift through our inbox - don’t forget, if you have Twitter news, send it to me on nikki@nikkipilkington.com.

And of course, you can follow me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/NikkiPilkington
