  1. Do you know that you can prepopulate Twitter links, making it easier for your visitors to promote you via tweets? http://tinyurl.com/5f3omd

    Thanks for this Nikki
I’ve started adding a line like that to blog posts BUT it’s a pain to create each one as I have to:
    a) paste the basic text
    b) publish the blog post to get it’s url
    c) use snip or tiny to shorten the url for inclusion in the tweet
    d) edit the blog post and the link to reflect the short url.
It’s a blooming palavar. Any ideas how to do it faster, simpler, better please?
NB: I use ShortKeys Lite to store and paste the basic text.

Here’s an example of the final thing:

If you’re on Twitter you can tell your followers about this by clicking here to: Tweet a link to this blog post. You can send the tweet, which contains a shortened link, as is or edit it.

The link would appear on the words: Tweet a link to this blog post

  3. There is a slightly faster way Mark – here’s what I do.

    a) I use WordPress, so I can pre-set the URL, and schedule to publish a few minutes in the future.
    b) I then copy that URL into Tweetdeck, which creates a short URL immediately
    c) Copy that into the blog post with pre-written text and save it.

Still a bit fiddly, but I’m sure there’s a geek out there who could do a widget or plugin.

I also use a graphic image to make it easier for people to notice

    Regards, David
