Steve Reeves of Front Office Box answered a few questions about his use of Twitter for business. Thanks Steve for taking time out of your busy schedule!

How long have you been on Twitter?

I’ve been on Twitter for  only a few weeks – maybe 6 or so.

How many people do you follow?

I’m following around 40 people for the moment.  Some of these are people I do business with but most I picked up on Triiibes or Twellow.  I’m deleting these as it becomes obvious they don’t add any value.

1 Golden Rule of Twitter Marketing

Great article from Aaron brezell of Technosailor this morning pointing out what so many are missing out on when using Twitter for business. Be sure to read the full article but the basic premise, in his words is:
If I had to detail a Twitter Golden Rule it would:

Tweet about others at least as much as you Tweet about yourself.

Think about it Twitterpeeps, think about it….

You’re no-one if you’re not on Twitter

Thanks to the fab The Next Web for bringing a smile to my face this morning with this great audio file: http://www.ihatemornings.com/audio/5090-14-youre-no-one-if-youre-not-on-twitter.mp3

The songwriter’s website is here.

Lyrics:

You’re no one if you’re not on Twitter
And if you aren’t there already you’ve missed it
If you haven’t been bookmarked, retweeted and blogged
You might as well not have existed

In the old days it was all about achievements
Collecting all your trophies in a shrine
Then everybody came across the internet
And suddenly you had to be online

Twittads founder says ads WILL attract enough eyeballs

Brand Republic runs a piece on the new Twittad service that some are saying is doomed to failure from the start.
The service, which intends to pay twitter users for including ads on their profile pages, is still in it’s infancy, but has already attracted criticism from all around.
According to Brand Republic James Eliason, chief executive of Twittad, said: “It is my belief that to increase the time users spend on its website, Twitter will roll out a newer web version that will give users more interactionon each individual page.”

Making sense of twitter chatter

By now, everyone’s heard of Twitter. And if you haven’t, where have you been?

Twitter is the smart “new” gizmo for keeping up to date with everything that’s happening. It’s a microblogging tool that everyone seems to be using for personal, social and business networking. Imagine text messaging across an established network or broadcasting your messages to everyone who subscribes or ‘follows’ you, as it’s known. Tell your friends, colleagues or customers your latest news as it happens and let them read your updates at their leisure.

It’s Twittie Time!

Don’t forget to vote in the twitties!
