It’s Friday today – on Twitter it’s known as FollowFriday.

FollowFriday began in January 2009, and it’s a way of recommending people on Twitter to your followers. You recommend a person, and then you say why others should follow them. You could recommend more than one person, and send more than one Tweet about this if you want. The important bit (to my mind) is to tell people WHY they should follow this person.
It’s simple to do – just put together a Tweet that says:
#followfriday @twittername because blah blah blah
So, as an example, you may Tweet:
#followfriday @nikkipilkington because her TweetMentor course is fab http://is.gd/nFox
(No, really, do feel free to do that 
)
Or you may say:
#followfriday @nikkipilkington – great Twitter advice, @mashable – up to date news, @stephenfry – funny tweets
The key to this is to always include the hashtag #followfriday.
