Twitter Interview with Heather Noble of Salt Solutions

A quick interview with Heather Noble of Salt Solutions a site offering a comprehensive range of support services.

How long have you been on Twitter?

Approximately 1 month, early days I guess.

How many people follow you?

39

How many people do you follow?

84

What made you sign up to Twitter?

I attended a workshop by Anna Farmery of The Engaging Brand at the WiRE Conference last month and it was clear from what she talked about that any business worth it’s salt should have a presence on Twitter if only to increase their awareness of what everybody else is doing in business. Plus of course the opportunity to share useful information and raise awareness of their business.

How often do you ‘Tweet’?

At the moment only really once a day but with the help of some of your recommendations I plan to increase that as I get more ‘savvy’.

How has Twitter been beneficial to your business?

In a relatively short period of time it is difficult to see a tangible advantage, I am also a fledgling business so statistics are hard to capture at the moment. However, from a psychological point of view it isgood to know that I am not the only one battling along trying to get a business off the ground. It helps to see successes and to find people who are willing to offer support and assistance.

If you had to recommend one person that business people should follow on Twitter, who would it be and why?

To be honest it would have to be Anna Farmery at The Engaging Brand. She already has a wealth of followers but having seen her at work and read some of her posts she is a true inspiration. She is certainly one to watch.

Have you had business / leads from Twitter?

As I said, it is early days for me and my business but I am very hopeful that Twitter will be a valuable portal for my business and that it will serve as a useful community if I ever find myself in need of some advice in a hurry.

Can you give a specific example of how Twitter has made a difference to your business?

From my point of view Twitter has been useful in providing guidance on howto improve my networking strategy and continues to give me food forthought on how to raise my profile. If I can discipline myself to Tweet on a more regular basis then my place in the community will inevitably grow in size and reward.

How do you see your use of Twitter evolving in the future, if at all?

I would like to use Twitter to share my experiences and to provide an insight into my work with a view to providing my service to a broader range of clients.
