What made you sign up to Twitter?
I often try out new things just because they are new.
How often do you ‘Tweet’?
It’s never a priority for me, so it depends upon what else is going on. I Downgrade or unfollow people who retweet people I am following anyway, or tweet excessively, so I try to limit what I broadcast. I probably average 3 tweets a day, varying from none to a dozen.
How has Twitter been beneficial to your business?
I’ve discovered some excellent contacts by identifying quality tweats.
If you had to recommend one person that business people should follow on Twitter, who would it be and why?
@guestbook because if you DM them they retweet your adverts. This mean that you can reduce the amount of promotional material you tweet, which increases the chances that people will actually read what you are tweeting.
Have you had business / leads from Twitter?
No, and I don’t expect to – very little of what I tweet is read by my followers, and I don’t think I am unusual in that. I have put out requests for services that I know some of my followers provide several times, and none responded offering to work for me! I think I am unusual in reading many tweats.
Can you give a specific example of how Twitter has made a difference to your business?
It links me in to the articles on a number of excellent Blog. The best then go into my RSS feed so I get notified of everything that they publish, others I just follow on Twitter.
How do you see your use of Twitter evolving in the future, if at all?
I think I’ve got it nailed currently, the only change I can currently envisage is running different private and business IDs. I’ve picked up a number of tricks and applications to automate the whole process and I will only change as Twitter changes. I’ll probably write Blog explaining my techniques.
