Why are we adding loads of lists to Business on Twitter?

Bright AtlantaI’ve been asked this quite a lot recently, and as I have nothing to hide, I thought I’d blog about it :)

Recently we’ve added a lot of posts asking for lists of people – copywriters, PR companies, recruiters, Marketing people – and we plan to add a lot more.

And lots of you have emailed me saying “Why are you doing this?” – some of you even think I have some evil master plan :)

But to be honest, it’s simple – I want traffic. Over the next few weeks you’ll see me adding more and more posts designed to give advice and resources for Twitter – all hopefully written to do well in search engines, to be retweeted, to be socially bookmarked etc. Becuse I want traffic.

Why do I want traffic? Because the aim is to sell both the businessontwitter.com and .co.uk domain names, along with the site, sometime in the next few months – and the more traffic it has and the bigger resource it becomes, the more money I’ll get for it.

Why am I selling it? Because I don’t particularly have the time to keep up with it long term, and I’m intrigued to see how much it wll make. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking at getting millions for it, but for the right offer I’d be happy to let it go.

How much is the right offer? I don’t know yet :) Let’s see what happens when I start listing it in places and we’ll go from there!

I’ll be updating this blog regularly with open details of traffic and search engine listings, as well as the usual Twitter related posts, so feel free to drop by regularly ;) (You can subscribe to comments on this post below)
