What do you do with your old shoes? #carolschuckouts

Well if you are a celeb on twitter you give them away to your followers…. just take a look at what @CarolVorders is doing

Yes, Carol Vorderman is giving away her size 6 shoe collection via twitter. Her boots as well. I think I saw a mention of clothes too.

After uploading a pic of the shoes or boots she is giving away, she is picking randomly from her replies that have the hashtag and the @reply. Carol would have quite a lot of loyal fans and they are probably very excited (sorry am a size 5, am struggling to get excited over too big shoes).

Guestblog: Twitter for business – twitter backgrounds and twidgets

Being as a friend calls me, a pioneer, I love finding things and trying them (trying in every sense of the word!).

One of my latest finds has thrilled me no end :-) It's here, http://www.freetwitterdesigner.com/

This nifty little gadget enables you to experiment with having a 'branded' twitter background. Yup a background that matches all your over stuff :-)

Research has shown having consistent branding across various social media platforms and apps increases recognition of the brand. Even if the brand is just you.

Why are we adding loads of lists to Business on Twitter?

Bright AtlantaI’ve been asked this quite a lot recently, and as I have nothing to hide, I thought I’d blog about it :)

Recently we’ve added a lot of posts asking for lists of people – copywriters, PR companies, recruiters, Marketing people – and we plan to add a lot more.

And lots of you have emailed me saying “Why are you doing this?” – some of you even think I have some evil master plan :)

How To Win Big On Twitter?

An interesting email reached us today with a tale of how to win big on Twitter, but also of how to find a willing audience for your adverts. Twitter Lotto owner Pete tells us:

On September 25, 2009 – The Twitter Lottery was born. Created by a university student Canada, the Twitter Lottery is based on a single Twitter account that you follow as your “ticket”. As the web site grows and evolves, so does the jackpot. The web site grows from publicity, and the jackpot is earned and built from the web site’s growing value, advertising revenue and popularity. Unlike a standard lottery, the Twitter Lotto is free to participate in. This is what sets it apart from the rest.

The Java Balloon Project – The Highest Twitter Client In The Room

A guest post from Viorel Spinu, co-founder of Sety (Java custom development company)

I would like to introduce to you a new Twitter related story that happened this Friday in Bucharest, Romania.

Friday, the 18th of September 2009, the first auto-tweet has been sent from a helium balloon during the local WebStock IT NewMedia conference.

The concept

As an example of unusual Twitter application, we have custom programmed an IPhone to automatically tweet a photo of the room every minute. Next, we have attached the IPhone to a helium filled balloon and let it fly during the WebStock conference (a local Bucharest IT conference), having so created “the highest twitter client ever”.

Twitter Logos

www.twitterlogos.com is a new site offering FREE twitter logos, icons, badges and follow on twitter buttons.

They claim to have the largest collection on the web so finding one you like shouldn’t be too hard.

The logos and buttons can be added to any website or blog to promote your brand on Twitter.

Graphic designers can also submit their work to be featured on the site and get free advertising.

So if you’re looking for new Twitter graphics, why not pop along and take a look?

I’m a tweeting – iJustine Rocking Robin spoof video

Thanks to @NigelMorgan for alerting us to this – not the best of the iJustine vids out there, but funny all the same :)

Are you addicted to Twitter?

It seems there’s no hope for us:

Using Twitter to run polls

We love TwtPoll, a quick and easy way to run a poll / survey n Twitter – it’s easy to set up, and allows people to retweet from the poll very easily.

Occasionally I like to browse through the polls and vote on a few. I always add a comment if I vote – for one, it puts my Twitter name on the comments page, which may encourage peple to check me out, and also I think it’s polite to leave a quick comment (and it takes a few seconds!)

Some recent polls that have caught my eye:

Another day, another ‘celebs on twitter’ website

There’s not much to say really – it’s another list of celebs on Twitter :)

Here’s their official release:

London, UK, 21st June 2009 – The new celebrity Twitter utility is here. OfficialTwitters.com is THE utility to find verified celebrity users of the social networking phenomenon Twitter.

OfficialTwitters collects the celebrity Twitter users and gives you the results in one handy list. OfficialTwitters.com takes the time to verify each celebrity account before posting it on the website. Featured accounts include Lily Allen, Lady GaGa, Ryan Seacrest and Ashley Tisdale.

I'm happy to use Increase Sociability.
