Interact with Twitter by email – Tweetymail

Date: 2nd August 2009

tweetymailA lazy weekend post – I do love it when people email me about their new apps and do all the hard work for me, rather than saying ‘Can you tell everyone about my app’ with no description of justification at all :)

Anil sent us this email about Tweetymail:

I would like to share a Twitter app that I created called tweetymail: http://tweetymail.com

7 New Twitter Apps from Killer Startups

I’ve been a fan of Killer Startups for a while – the premise is that they add 15+ startup sites a day and allow users to vote on them. Unfortunately not as many people as could be are voting, and it seems that there are lots of (ahem) Killer Startups missing out on publicity, so if you could take the time to pop over and have a nose around, I’m sure it would be appreciated!

As this is a blog about Twitter, I’m only going to feature recent Twitter related posts on there, but there are others that are well worth a look too!

Just when you think that there’s nothing else to think of in the Twitterverse, no other use for Twitter and no mad scheme to smile at, along comes an email to let you know that pointless Twitter apps still rule for procrastination and time wasting :)

Twesents allows you to send virtual presents to your Twitter friends, and they kindly sent us an email asking us to give them ago.

So I (Nikki) duly tripped over to the site to give it a go!

Apparently mine (NikkiPilkington) is worth $507 – to whom, I wonder? ;)

According to TweetValue – I have a long way to go to match Chris Brogan, who is worth over $8000.

Twitturly dying? Have a heart, Twitter!

Date: 18th July 2008

According to Twitturly, due to recent changes to Twitter’s API, Twitturly is slowly dying. There’s a plea on their status page for Twitturly users to contact the poeple that can help fix this, namely: Evan Williams, Biz Stone, Alex Payne, Evan Weaver.

The graphic below shows how the number of Tweets Twitturly processes in a day has dropped dramatically since the API changes.

Twitturly

For those of you that haven’t heard of Twitturly, here’s their blurb:

Twitt(url)y, or twitturly if you prefer, is a service for tracking what URLs people are talking about as they talk about them on Twitter.

Good morning people – time for the morning roundup of Twitter news on my radar:

  • Interesting Twitter Life Cycle diagram from CogDog – I think it pretty much encompasses most people’s experience of Twitter, at least in a social capacity. Some intersting links from that story too, to others’ examples of their Twitter experience.
  • ɹǝʇʇıʍʇ uı uʍop ǝpısdn ǝʇıɹʍ oʇ ʍoɥ – over at Paciific IT, Robert Sanzalone tells us how to write upside down in Twitter – yes, I know it has no actual USE, and it’s very annoying after a while, but it’s geeky and funny for about 3 seconds and I guarantee most of you will try it ;)
