Twitter life cycle, ɹǝʇʇıʍʇ uı uʍop ǝpısdn, popular Twitter Apps and more

Good morning people – time for the morning roundup of Twitter news on my radar:

  • Interesting Twitter Life Cycle diagram from CogDog – I think it pretty much encompasses most people’s experience of Twitter, at least in a social capacity. Some intersting links from that story too, to others’ examples of their Twitter experience.
  • ɹǝʇʇıʍʇ uı uʍop ǝpısdn ǝʇıɹʍ oʇ ʍoɥ – over at Paciific IT, Robert Sanzalone tells us how to write upside down in Twitter – yes, I know it has no actual USE, and it’s very annoying after a while, but it’s geeky and funny for about 3 seconds and I guarantee most of you will try it ;)

Happy Bastille Day to all our French readers and followers – the sun is shining in france today so hopefully you are all out enjoying the weather!

For the rest of us, here’s a round up of the Twitter news in my inbox this morning!

  • ReadWriteWeb have a nice little round up of ten top twitter apps for you to play with. Also find out how to integrate Twitter with Second Life, how to post directly to your 30 Boxes calendar account, how to share what you’re listening to on Last.fm and more.

What’s hot on Twitter right now?

Through an automated algorithm, twitscoop crawls hundreds of tweets every minute and extracts the words which are mentionned more often than usual.
The result is displayed in a Tag Cloud, using the following rule: the hotter, the bigger…
You can also input a twitter username in the search box to track a conversation.

Current hot topics appear to be:

Twitter Counter – how popular are you?

The more followers you have, the more people will see your messages, and the higher the likelihood of them being ‘re-tweeted’ and passed around.

In addition, if you really want to show off, you can add an icon to your blog or website that shows how many followers you have – probably not advisable if the number is less than ten ;)
