By now, everyone’s heard of Twitter. And if you haven’t, where have you been?
Twitter is the smart “new” gizmo for keeping up to date with everything that’s happening. It’s a microblogging tool that everyone seems to be using for personal, social and business networking. Imagine text messaging across an established network or broadcasting your messages to everyone who subscribes or ‘follows’ you, as it’s known. Tell your friends, colleagues or customers your latest news as it happens and let them read your updates at their leisure.
After I posted this post about getting business from Twitter, in various places, someone said to me that it must take a lot of dedication and discipline to get those results from Twitter.
I spoke to a few other people who said that they thought it would take an awful lot of time to achieve any sort of results on twitter that would be useful for their business.
This is my response:
Hi XX
Honestly, it hasn’t taken up loads of my time.
I’ve installed Tweetdeck - this makes it easy to see Tweets - you could install Twitterfox or Twhirl for similar results.
Another way to post to multiple Twitter accounts at once- handy if you run a personal and a business account, or have various different accounts for clients, as we do.
Free to sign up, but web based, so has some limitations - it would be nice to see a desktop or browser plugin version. Until then I guess Twhirl is as good as it gets
